Tidak selamanya sepeda motor menunjukkan performa yang baik. Terkadang ada saja masalah yang ditemui. Apalagi kalau si pemilik malas membersihkan. Masalah yang sering timbul salah satunya adalah mesin yang tersendat ketika motor dikendarai. Kalau sudah begini, perasaan waswas kalau motor akan mogok di tengah jalan mungkin langsung menyergap.

Pasokan bahan bakar yang terlalu banyak bisa menjadi  penyebab utamanya. Hal ini karena karburator yang kotor menghambat proses di dalamnya. Padahal, untuk bisa menjamin performa mesin yang prima, salah satunya adalah dengan menjamin proses pengabutan di dalam karburator dengan sempurna.

Oleh karena itu, bersihkan bagian ini beserta dengan komponen-komponen pendukungnya secara berkala. Hal lain yang menyebabkan pasokan bahan bakar berlebih adalah penyetelan jarum skep yang terlalu tinggi, klep chock yang macet dan nozzle pilot jet yang tersumbat dan penyetelan sekrup angin yang tidak tepat.

Kotoran secara otomatis akan membuat mesin “pincang” atau bahkan tidak bisa dinyalakan sama sekali. Untuk itu perhatikan dengan seksama bagian-bagian tersebut dan pastikan setelannya sudah tepat. Jangan lupa untuk memeriksa kebersihan knalpot karena kotoran bisa menghambat gas buang dari ruang bakar mesin.

Hal lain yang menyebabkan mesin sepeda motor tersendat adalah busi yang sudah lemah. Kalau sudah begini, tak ada cara lain selain membeli busi baru yang cocok untuk motor.
